Is It Cheaper To Fix Your Dead Gas Guzzler Or Do An Electric Car Conversion

Recently I came across a post on another blog by a gentleman whose gas guzzler’s engine has died and he wanted to know if an electric car conversion makes more sense for him than a rebuild.

One of the things he was concerned about was rising gas prices. He wasn’t really concerned about going green. He just wanted cheap transportation to get from point A to point B. There are a lot of people who fall into this category.

Saving Money With An Electric Car Conversion

From an economic point it absolutely makes sense. I probably don’t have to tell you how expensive a new or rebuilt motor can be. Even a brand new electric car motor will be way cheaper. If he is resourceful and uses forklift and golf cart parts his electric car conversion costs will be much cheaper.

He will save money on gas and maintenance over the long run too. Being simpler in design, with fewer moving parts, there’s a lot less to break.

The biggest expense for his electric car conversion would be batteries. If he reconditions batteries then he can save a lot on his project.

From an ecological point of view it makes a lot of sense too, although this wasn’t his primary concern. Obviously he was concerned about gas prices, but equally important is doing an electric car conversion means one less source of emissions on the road. Even assuming his old car could be recycled 100% it is still more efficient to use a resource that’s already here. It takes a lot of energy to recycle it back into something useful.

One big factor that he didn’t mention was how far he had to drive each day. The further he needs to go the more batteries he will need. So this would be a big factor in his electric car conversion costs. If he doesn’t have a long commute then I think it makes sense to convert his gas guzzler.

Also I am assuming he has an alternate vehicle or other way of getting to work until his project is complete otherwise car rental would be an added cost.

Eventually there will be a grid where people can get a quick charge and extend their range. It is being built but it will take time for there to be coverage in many areas. Until it is, his driving range will be the major consideration on whether electric car conversion is his best option.

Electric Car Conversion – Save Money Today – Save The Earth For Tomorrow

Electric car conversion will save you money but it will also help save the environment too. There are several reasons why people decide on an electric car conversion.

Some folks will do an electric car conversion simply to save money and there is nothing wrong with that at all. At the same time they are still helping the environment by reducing carbon emissions and recycling a vehicle that would have wound up in a scrap heap.

Other folks are all about going green and are more concerned with eliminating greenhouse gases than with the cost of gas. Of course they enjoy the savings but that is not their primary motivation for an electric car conversion.

A third group is more of the survivalist. They don’t want to be squeezed dry by Big Oil and like the idea of being more self-sufficient and they see an electric car conversion as another away to get off the grid.

There is another bunch that just enjoys building things and to them an electric car conversion is a fun project to do.

Most of us are a mix of all these but we can all save money and help the environment at the same time regardless of our motivation.

Electric Car Conversion Makes Sense – Dollars And Cents

Building a homemade electric car just makes good sense. Of course you could buy an expensive hybrid but they still have a regular engine to maintain and you still are buying gas, and also you have a hefty monthly car payment.

Or you could buy a Tesla that starts at about $110,000 and have a car payment as big as your mortgage. Even as newer electric cars come on the market, the price remains too high for many budgets. There is also limited availability although that is likely to change over the next few years.

Considering the cost and availability of alternative vehicles, and the fact gas could go through the roof before supplies become available, home electric car conversion just makes more sense for someone who wants to go electric now.

Electric Car Conversion Will Save You A Lot Of Hassle And Money

Think about some of the advantages. No more running around town looking for cheap gas or waiting in line for it. You’re all electric now, so you can just zip by the gas station.

No more expensive maintenance or repairs. These cars are simple to use and there’s almost nothing to break down. Your motor will still be running when your homemade electric car rusts to the ground! No tune ups, no changing spark plugs, no oil changes, no more black greasy hands either.

Save Money Great! More Importantly Let’s Save Our Planet!

Because if we mess this up, where are we going to go? We are all going to have to pitch in and do our part. Otherwise there wont be anything left for our kids and our grand kids.

Global warming is very real! We simply can no longer afford to continue to do business as usual. This is your chance to make a difference.

You might even wind up starting your very own green movement. When your neighbors see your electric car conversion they will realize this is possible and they will want to do it too.

Build A Homemade Electric Car, Never Buy Gas Again, Save Money And Help Save Our Environment

Would you like to learn to build you own homemade electric car? You can stop pouring money into that old gas guzzler.

Stop putting money into Big Oil’s pockets and spend it on yourself instead. Feel good knowing you’re doing your part to help save the environment.

Yes it really is possible. Building a homemade electric car is easier and cheaper than you might think. Everyday ordinary folks like me and you are doing it. Just follow our step by step electric car plans. Stop paying an arm and a leg for gas.

Your Homemade Electric Car Will Have You Smiling Every Time You Drive By The Gas Pumps!

Maybe you have looked at car prices and feel you can’t afford an expensive new hybrid or electric car.

Well don’t worry because you can build your own homemade electric car for a fraction of the cost. Our step by step plans will show you how.

And while the Nissan Leaf may only go 100 miles on a charge, the creator of our car plans has been getting 200 miles on a charge for years now.

Don’t assume because it’s a homemade electric car conversion that it will be a piece of junk because nothing could be further from the truth.

Don’t Wait To Get Slammed By Higher Gas Prices Again

Why not get started on your homemade electric car now before gas prices go through the roof again? We both know it’s a safe bet it will happen. It’s not a question of if it will happen, just when.

Thankfully gas prices have stayed artificially low due to the recession. But that is about to end. In fact it already has. Gas is going over $4 a gallon and it wont look back.

Greater Demand And Shorter Supply Means Higher Prices

Did you know China is now the largest auto maker in the world? The Chinese people are enjoying their new found prosperity and they want to drive.

China is building cars faster than they can build roads to put them on. Guess what? They are competing for gas, your gas, and pushing prices higher. India is also booming and buying cars.

There Has Never Been A Better Time To Build A Homemade Electric Car

So why put it off? An electric car conversion actually be a fun project. But maybe you’re worried you don’t have the skill to build a homemade electric car.

Our step by step plans will show you how to build your homemade electric car and you will also learn how and where to get the parts you need. If you can follow instructions and a wiring diagram you can do an electric car conversion yourself.

You don’t really need any special tools and everyday “non mechanical” folks are converting their cars to electric. It’s way simpler than working on a conventional motor. Heck an electric motor has one moving part, the armature.

Not Sure? Don’t Say No To A Homemade Electric Car – Say Maybe And Check It Out Risk Free

This is a complete, easy to follow step by step guide. It will not only show you how to build your homemade electric car but also how to save money doing it.

Its easy to follow and was written by a couple that have been living off the grid for years. So it’s practical and designed around everyday tools. They didn’t have a machine shop or garage and they know chances are you don’t either.

Check it out risk free for 60 days – you really have nothing to lose

So you can check it out for yourself for 60 days and if it’s not what you thought it would be, if you decide its too technical or even if you just plain change your mind about building a homemade electric car you can get a full no questions asked refund.

The great thing is since this is an e book you can get it instantly even if it’s 3 A.M. You can literally get started in the next 5 minutes!

Welcome To Homemade Electric Car

Are you thinking about building your own homemade electric car? Maybe you have noticed what’s happening to gas prices lately. Of course saving money isn’t the only reason to drive an electric car.

Electric car conversion is a viable alternative for those who want to break free from Big Oil’s grip. Building your own homemade electric car is certainly cheaper than buying a new electric car or an electric hybrid.

What Does It Take To Build A Homemade Electric Car?

You don’t need to be a master mechanic to tackle a project like this. In fact there is very little mechanics involved and most of the work is electrical.

Not an electrician either? No problem. Can you follow directions? There are some very good plans available that can help you build a homemade electric car.

Most home workshops already have all the tools you will need. There is no need to buy a lot of expensive specialty tools. You may need to rent a hoist to get the old engine out though.

You will want a shop to work in. Although you could do your electric car conversion outside, the project could take several weeks to complete and you don’t want it getting wet.

Of course you need a car to convert. You can use any car or truck that has a manual transmission. Lighter is better and small trucks are ideal because they can hold more batteries and carry the load.

Finally you need a set of electric car plans to follow. Even if you are a master mechanic or electrician these will help. It is easier to learn from the mistakes of others than to make them all yourself.

Homemade Electric Car offers the best, most complete electric car plans you can get anywhere and you can find out more about them here.

Have You Thought About Building Your Own Homemade Electric Car?

Is there a homemade electric car in your future? Lets put it another way. Have you seen what is happening to gas prices lately?

In case you hadn’t noticed they are now hovering around $4 a gallon and could go much higher. Prices have remained artificially low during the recession. Maybe its time to think about a homemade electric car before gas prices shoot through the roof..

How’s Your Economy?

Economists now say the recession is over. I wonder if the millions of unemployed and underemployed Americans agree.

But Big Oil will be all too happy to put the screws to us. How much impact would another dollar a gallon have on you and your family? What about paying $5 a gallon? Would you be able to make ends meet?

This may be a good time to consider building a homemade electric car. Yes there are some hybrids out there and electric cars are coming to the market but in very limited numbers and they aint cheap.

>>Visit The Official Convert2EV Site Now<<

The auto makers are in collusion with the big oil companies. They have continued to buy up patents and suppress technology. They will not stop doing business as usual until gas goes so high no one can afford it.

Gas will go up. There are rumors floating around that the Saudi oil reserves are almost depleted. True or not all the oil reserves are being depleted because mother nature is not making more oil. The deposits we have were formed millions of years ago during a one time climactic event.

China and India want to drive cars too so demand is higher that ever for this non renewable resource. China is building cars faster than they can build the roads to put them on.

So is there a homemade electric car in your future?

Well you could get on a waiting list for a $35,000 Nissan Leaf or for a fraction of that you could build your own homemade electric car and get twice the Leaf’s 100 mile range to boot?

You can check out our electric car plans risk free for 60 days and decide if building your own homemade electric car is right for you. This could be the most important financial decision you make all year. Don’t wait for prices to keep going up.

Well, actually nothing, except you can get electrocuted if either should fall into your bathtub while you’re in it. This is really funny to me.

It seems there is a group of people that are afraid of electric cars. The reason? Apparently there is a fear of electrocution if they get wet.

There’s an old story floating around about a guy who got electrocuted when his toaster fell in the tub. Actually the way I heard it was a radio not a toaster that fell into the tub. What was this guy thinking anyway?

Keep Your Electric Cars Out Of The Gene Pool

I don’t think he was in a tub but rather in the shallow end of the gene pool. This gets my vote for the Darwin Award. Even worse, if the guy had lived he would have ended up with soggy toast.

Needless to say, this fear of electric cars is completely unfounded. So if you are thinking about building a homemade electric car just make sure you aren’t standing in the tub while doing it. Also just to be safe make sure you never make breakfast in your electric car and for God sakes don’t bathe and drive!

Do Electric Cars Make You Worry About Toasters in Bathtubs …

As we move toward the December launch of electric cars from real automakers–the 2011 Nissan Leaf and the 2011 Chevrolet Volt–there are many myths and fears that will have to be dispelled among consumers.

We sell plans to help people build homemade electric cars but if you are looking for electric toaster plans I am afraid you are out of luck.

Starting Your Electric Car Conversion

So you finally decided to do your own electric car conversion of your own. Don’t worry it’s really not that hard especially if you have a good set of electric car plans. Since a lot of the work is electrical, unless you are an electrician I wouldn’t advise trying an electric car conversion without plans.

What Kind Of Car Is Best For An Electric Car Conversion?

You need a car with a manual transmission for your homemade electric car and lighter is better. Small trucks work really well. They can easily carry more batteries and give you more range.

Your motor will last a long time with little maintenance so make sure you pick a car that’s in good shape.

You really don’t need any special expensive tools for an electric car conversion. Your home work shop will probably has everything you need already. A shop or shed to work in is best although you could do this outside.

The hardest work actually will be removing the old engine, exhaust system and gas tank. Also since electric motors are heavy too it would be good to have a helper at times.

Batteries For Your Electric Car Conversion

Doing an electric car conversion is really about matching your electric motor with the batteries. Your range will depend on the number of batteries used and the weight of your vehicle. It will take about 20 deep cycle batteries to go 200 miles between charges. If you just want to whiz around town then you could get by with less. It’s best to find the lightest vehicle that will work for you to increase your range.

Cheap or even free batteries and motors are available if you know where to look and will work great for your electric car conversion. Our detailed plans will show you how to use them and where to find them.

How Long Does An Electric Car Conversion Take?

Once you have assembled all the parts you need it should take a couple of weeks to complete the project. A lot depends on how much time you have and a helper will definitely speed things up. If you’re very skilled and have help you might be able to do it in a few days. Since you are not using your primary vehicle you can take your time and do it right.

Most homemade electric cars are designed for in town, But you can go 50 mph on the highway too. Electric cars also accelerate really fast. Nothing will beat you off the line at a light.

But the best thing is you wont have to shell out money for gas ever again. And gas prices will go up as sure as the sun will rise. So now is a great time to start your own electric car conversion.

Go Green With a Homemade Electric Car – Top 3 Reasons to Do it Now!

Building a homemade electric car is a great way to save on fuel prices. With the slow economy most of us are looking for ways to save money. It’s really a lot easier and cheaper than you probably think.

1) A homemade electric car will free you from The Big Oil Cartels stranglehold

While we struggle to scrimp and save the greedy big oil companies rake in billions in profits at our expense. We need to break their grip on us and become less dependent on them.

It’s a safe bet that gas prices will rise again. How high will they go this time? Can you afford to pay more? Last time when prices topped $4 many families had to choose between food or gas It could go much higher this time. A homemade electric car can keep you on track and on budget.

Wouldn’t it be nice to be free from them? Imagine never paying for gas again. What would you do with the extra money? Go on vacation? Eat better? Catch up on bills? Whatever your choice it’s better in your pocket than theirs. Building a homemade electric car will set you free.

2) A homemade electric car is an affordable alternative to an expensive hybrid.

Many people think hybrid electric cars are the answer. But they are expensive. Many can’t afford to be strapped with another payment. Availability right now is also an issue. It’s questionable whether or not the savings in gas justify the increased cost of a hybrid. Plus your still buying gas!

You can build an homemade electric car for a fraction of the price. There are countless examples of electric car conversions for under $1000. Even if you buy an electric car conversion kit your homemade electric car will cost one third of a new vehicle. Uncle Sam will even pay you to do it. You can get up to a $1000 alternative energy tax credit.

If you have a car that needs engine work it’s probably cheaper just to do an electric car conversion. I was quoted $700 for a complete tune up. Why bother? You can build a homemade electric car for that much money instead.

3) A homemade electric car is a green solution to global warming.

If we don’t take care of our planet what will be left for our kids and grand kids? Hybrid cars still use gas and produce emissions. They may be a better alternative than a regular gas guzzler but they are still part of the problem.

It takes a lot less energy to recycle an existing car into an electric vehicle conversion than it does to create a new hybrid car from scratch. Why not take advantage of resources that are already here instead of using all the energy and materials needed for creating new ones?

I think you will agree that an electric vehicle conversion is a great idea. Actually it’s pretty simple and straight forward if you have a good set of electric car plans to follow. Don’t wait for gas prices to go through the roof to get started. For more information and to get your homemade electric car plans visit the official Convert 2 EV Site
